Mcdonald’s McCafe commercials are just silly. “Our coffee doesn’t taste like crap anymore” isn’t much of a slogan but that would have been enough for me. I’m not really a coffee snob, more of an opportunist. Starbucks and Panera are in my n-hood. BTW, Panera’s coffee isn’t any better than Micky D’s. Starbucks doesn’t have to worry. Not likely that this was ever a concern. Apparently the thought was that there is enough specialty coffee market to go around. My guess is that Dunkin Donuts will suffer more from the McCafe’s entre in to that arena. I’m gonna skip the mochas and lattes at the Hamburgler’s house but I probably will grab one of the iced coffees this summer. Maybe they’ll add those to the $1 menu.

I didn’t think it was that bad when they first started promoting it. I had gotten a few hazelnut iced coffees and they were actually very enjoyable and very cheap by comparison. Lately though the coffee I’ve received has been horrible. If they’d put their iced coffees on the $1 menu in the summer that would be a great move… as long as it doesn’t taste horrible.
