Glad to hear about your goals. My wife has a mini company (not a commercial we live in Michigan) called Birthing Athletes - sort of a play on words since she does fitness training for expectant mom's but also for others (like me). Anyway all that is to say one of the things that works for us comes from the notion that is it is easier to train than to exercise - so Julie has me pick a race of some sort to train for. It started with 5ks and this year I finished (barely) a 1/2 marathon. My goal is to finish, I wasn't last but near the bottom of the list for my age group. So ask your trainer about setting a far off race as a goal - maybe some time next summer. It works for me - and the races are a blast.

Hey...I was just catching up on your blog.
The fitness pursuit sounds good. I'm a little nervous about Thursday myself!
And you're right...2000 calories add up in a hurry. That almost sounds like an unrealistic goal. But just to lose 1 lb. a week, we have to create a deficit of 500 calories!
